If I lived near you...

...this is what I'd bring you
with some fresh homemade salsa and chips
and we'd sing you a little Christmas song
* * *
I'm a little bit in love with these
gussied up fruits
Don't they look ready for their close up
or at least for a pineapple prom?

How beautiful they are all arranged prim and proper on the table! What a great treat to get in lieu of all the sugar and fat laden cookies and fudge. I would LOVE to live near you. And homemade salsa is one of life's greatest pleasures for sure.

I am definitely stealing this idea next year. Beautiful. So colonial too...perfect.

I am so missing you and your fabulous chips and salsa. And a fresh pineapple to boot? Man. Sucks to be so far away.

I usually serve fruit with dinner. If I serve pineapple, my 8 year old asks, "is it fresh or canned?" You can imagine his preference. What a cheery gift in the dead of winter! It reminds me of notecards our friend J gave me one year with a quote by Henry David Thoreau: "Always maintain a kind of summer even in the middle of winter." Merry Christmas! -D

Merry Christmas Annie! The pineapples are beautiful, the ribbons really set off the green tops. Lovely! A great idea. p.s. this is Emily--password is messed up so I can only sign as anonnymouse :)

Thanks for inviting me along for the new format. The pineapples look beautiful! Isn't it fun to see fruits and vegetables the same way we see flowers...things of beauty, shape, texture, aroma, color. I love a still life setting like this!
