Farewell

We're heading home later this morning. It's been a great trip but we're ready to go back to our lives and beds.

And I'm sure you're ready to not read about Guatemala anymore (I'm beginning to feel like the tiresome neighbor who subjects you to all his vacation slides. And then does an accordion rendition of all his favorite show tunes.)

But, sorry, here's one final flurry of photos, like the last of the fireworks at the 4th of July--sometimes people stay and watch but sometimes they're ready to sprint for their cars to get out there. I understand, either way. I'm just throwing them out there in case you're still interested.

on Friday we hiked to the cross that looks out over Antigua

whenever we walked past this fountain in the middle of town, I was thankful I'm not nursing anymore

studying + teaching Emily Spanish

bye, Antigua

Not tired of them at all...you've hardly gushed. And that one of the fountain made me laugh so hard that Miss Hannah came running to see what was so funny. Couldn't really explain it though...

Travel home safe. Bet those others at home can't wait to see you!

Great shots. And from someone who's never been to Guatemala, no the pictures are never tiresome. I too was reminded how grateful I am to not be nursing!

The fountain, yes, she has the expression exactly right. I AM still nursing. Laughed my head off. And like everyone else, I have loved checking up on my world-traveler friends!

Adios, Antigua mia. I have enjoyed the wonderful pictures so much, and you commentary. It has been a refreshing visit for us, to catch a few glimpses of our two adventurers. Thank you for the experience. I am loath to leave. But for me, it was just an armchair (or computer chair) trip. I arrived and left in the comfort of my swivel ergonomically healthy chair. Looking forward to hearing about life back in Concord. Love you, Ma

Love the photos and I have to say that "Possession" is one of my all time favorite favorites! Loved the movie, of course, but I just cried and cried when the book was finished. SOOOOO good!
