Columbus, we really like your day
After getting all of our have-to-do list done this morning (statistics for me, homework for the girls, flopping around and bored moaning for Sam), we headed east for a chilly but lovely hour at Wingaersheek beach just outside of Gloucester (by the way {helpful Boston insider info}: pronounced glaw-ster, not glou-cest-er).

So that was the best part of the weekend (even though we missed Greg, who had to work today) along with a nice day out with Greg on Friday when the kids were at school.

Great photos Annie! And I have to say, I'm loving the orange coat!
My kid had school. What's up with that.
I love all the photos.
Is that why we didn't have school on Friday? I really need to check the calendar more often for those lesser holidays.
I love that you included the pronunciation of Gloucester for those non-Bostonian types. :)
Love all the photos.
Have you considered that Louie may also be upset at his forgotten appointments?
Love the photos.
Our Columbus day celebration went like this: (BTW, kids had school)
Me--"It's Columbus day today. Did they even talk about him at all today?"
1st grader--"Oh yeah. That one guy. We talked about him."
Me--"Did they say good things about him or bad?"
1st grader--"Good. He sailed in a boat."
Me--"Good. Just checking."
The End.
I LOVE your movie! That song is the best and will always make me think of "Love Actually." Your photos are quite fantastic. What lens are you using?
Columbus Day was one of my favorite holidays when we lived there. We'd always go to Wingaersheek (sp?) and then stop at Honey Pot Hill Orchards for apple donuts and cider on the way home. My kids totally had school yesterday. LAME.
I love your pics. Please tell me how you created the 21-pic collage. My program only allows for 4 pics. Your children are growing up and they look so happy. Keep up the great work!
We enjoyed seeing your fantastic pictures from Wingaersheek (great name!) Beach. You look to have had a great Columbus Day. You will all treasure those lovely happy images forever. We were impressed with the movie too. You are so clever Annie. Poor Greg having to miss out on all the fun. Did you manage to get the face paint off your sofas and rug?

Anna, try using Picasa. You can download it for free and it allows you all sorts of photo grids as well as a movie/slide show option.
Laurie,
Very good point. I think Louie is sending little passive-aggressive messages about my forgetfulness of his appointment.
Christie,
Thanks for the compliment! I am still using the standard 58mm lens that came with the Canon xsi but the macro lens you and Michelle recommend is the next thing I'm going to buy.
Lindsay,
Sadly no stain disappearance here. Thankfully, we have a stain warranty on the sofa so they will be coming to try to remove the evidence. I was disappointed Louie didn't at least make himself up to look like a clown as long as he was at it.
beautiful photos, beautiful family:)
Cute, CUTE pictures. Sorry about the diarreah!
-love the pictures.
-it's actually "gloss-ta"
-lose the dog. i mean, the last post about him was how he caused you to look bad at the vet. the previous post, if i recall, involved something about a poopy bum. i fail to see the value in keeping him around.
Your blog serves as a form of dog-birth-control for me and my family.
Thank you for providing this free service. And happy belated C-day!
