Apples to wackos

We were sitting around playing Apples to Apples this morning when we stumbled into a hilarious coda to the game. Hilarious to us, that is. Is it dorky or cool? I can't decide.  It might be a case of had-to-be-there.

Whatever word cards you win, you act out at the end.
We started out pretty straightforward:

^
flirtatious

^
patriotic

Then we started combining words and adding props
and things got a little wacky:

^
temperamental & dangerous

^
unscrupulous & cool
(nothing says cool like smoking a pen?
kids, don't try this at home)

^
saintly & powerful

^
scary & loud
And my personal favorite:

^
dangerous and cheesy
(grandma is threatening to grate M's finger)

I've never heard of that game, but it definitely looks like my kind of thing. Fake smoking and cheese graters? Sign me up, sister.

We love that game!
Never tried the acting out bit.
But, (as some of) my kids are still younger than yours, we consider it a good round when one of them doesn't burst into tears because their red card wasn't chosen as the victor. {They still don't understand that "playing to the judge" part.}

the dangerous and cheesy is my favorite too. I am unfortunately married to someone who loathes playing games and I love games. we never play. :(

This is our favorite game. I want to try that. I think it makes it tons better though that you captured it on digital camera and your blog cause then you really hammed it up. I like unscrupulous and cool the best!

I've never enjoyed a2a much but dangerous/cheesy may have just converted me.

But I really came over here to say:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

What a fabulous b-day!

Love that ending. My kids play it all the time, I'll be passing it along to them.

(Sorry about the theft! Oh my heck. That's freaking lame.--that's my attempt at a Utah accent.)
