We made it here in one piece. The forecasted rain has held off. Today reminded me of One Morning in Maine, where Sal (of Blueberries for... fame) spends a day traipsing after her father on the coast of Maine (spoiler alert: she loses a tooth). Have you read it? It's a favorite.

So far Maine is fulfilling my high hopes (which, honestly is not easy, when your {sometimes unrealistic} expectations come from glowing movies and enchanting children's books.)
A little slice of heaven, that's what they have right here in Maine.
(Not paid for by the Maine Travel Bureau, in case you're wondering.)

OH. HEAVENLY. It looks so picturesque. Gorgeous photos. Love the nappers, too. Got room for one more?

I meant room there in Maine for one more...G and M look a little too cozy for one more on the hammock. Plus, that'd be like totally weird for G.

I'm crazy about Maine. Best lobster rolls, antiquing and lighthouses EVER!

Oh, I love Maine. Greg's aunt lives there and we like to visit every chance we get. Last summer, we went sailing with them to Little Cranberry Island and enjoyed fresh lobster. Heaven. I really, really love that place. What a perfect family vacation.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures. I am so jealous! Everything looks idylic, the house, the view and the hammocks. Louie looks enormous! He really has grown. Glad to see him there with you all enjoying Maine.
Have a wonderful time. How could you not?
