Nose--->Grindstone

Today (and yesterday) I have been focusing on putting my nose back to the academic grindstone, researching and working on my qualifying paper in my extra (kids-in-school) time.

My nose may be hitting the grindstone but my mind is wandering all over the place.  The toughest part is blocking out all of the enticing and suddenly urgent matters that call me from all corners of the house. Not to mention that, since my studio and the guest bedroom are one and the same, there is a comfy bed that begs to host a nap every day after lunch.

While I do enjoy learning more about preventive family interventions and program retention, blogging about it is another story.  A boring story. So while I work away at toughening my tender grindstone:nose I'll leave you with a quote I read in this interview:

"If you are irritated by every rub, how will you get polished?" ~Rumi

And I *have* been irritable lately.  I needed that.

All of this is just to say: I'll be back soon.

Ummm, a nap. That sounds lovely right about now. Why didn't I read this an hour ago? Now I've got kids who'll be tromping through the doors in about ten minutes.

Sigh.

And, you probably noticed, my nose isn't THAT firmly on the grindstone, since I'm writing blog posts and linking to music and everything else. But relatively speaking.

Yes, same article. :) I needed to hear it too.
Shall we just say, "great minds think alike"?
No matter the inadvertant c.c.,
I think only 3 people read my blog... :p

I don't like that yucky old grindstone.
Not one little bit.
It totally hurts my nose.

best wishes,
xo

Naps are simply the best! As a matter of fact, I took one today. Don't be gone too long!
