This year, I am going as a fat, neurotic mother of three who eats way too much cookie dough and spends all her husband's money on things for herself. I know. It's going to be scary.
Remember when I said that Lulu is going to be bat girl (like your beautiful profile), well all of the children are super heros. Norah is wonder woman, Abram is spiderman (that is where it all began) and Rosemary is supergirl. Mom and dad are villians: Joker and slutty cat woman, although I am trying to make her not so slutty, more of the sixties Julie Newmar cat woman, although she is still slightly slutty in a retro way. I am sewing all of these costumes, with the exception of spiderman, so hopefully I have some control over the over sexualized feline. Why are there so few female villains?
Oh crap. I've got to figure it out!
My sister's kid was a chick magnet last year and my friend's son was a whoopie cushion...that really worked. The year before he was a rubic's cube. These were all homemade costumes. Funny and cute.
My daughter and her friends like to do themed costumes. Last year they were characters from Toy Story. The year before Wizard of Oz. This year they bought some crazy African caftans. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
i despise dressing up.
when did this happen to me? it used to be fun.
I am in lurk mode - no time for leaving comments - but I had to break out of that mode to tell you that I LOVED that video! I watched it twice. Thanks!
