Wishful thinking

Leaving Utah on Saturday, G turned to me and said

"You know how {our friends} went to Hawaii on vacation and ended up just staying there for good? Do you ever think about doing that?"

Oh, yeah. I do.

. . .

Time with family, long talks with friends, big skies, mountains, comfort food, friendliness, and the geography of home = one good week.

I do.

Only, it's not only "going home" related.

I love fantasizing about going on vacation and just staying there.
Part wanderlust,
part running away...
part extending that awesome feeling of being on vacation.

Hmm.
I think I get "wishful thinking" alot.

Your trip home sounds like it was wonderful.

I don't blame you. That's kinda why I'm turning my life upside down right now. Turning forty is making me homesick. I'll let you know how it works out.

That's why we do the summer thing. It satisfies all those feelings. But I don't have to leave Texas. Home that I love.

I would love to go on vacation to Hawaii and never come home. You mean we can do that? What am I waiting for? That sounds heavenly.
