Weekend roundup
For us this has meant...
Sleeping in a bit (except Louie)
French toast made by G
Listening to WWII music throughout the day
(thanks to the 40's station on our DirectTV)
Reading outside
(is there anything better?)
Lauren making a movie with her friends
(a disaster movie about a hurricane, I believe.
They're filming a water scene in the river.
It's for school.)
Sam's first lawn mowing tutorial from his dad
Mandatory weeding time
(awww, Dad, it's a holiday!)
Dinner with friends here in our backyard
(pulled pork sandwiches and homemade ice cream. Mmmm...)
& missing taking part in leaving flowers
on loved ones' graves with family in the west
Have a great day,
both remembering
and making new memories
I enjoyed this National Anthem performance
posted this morning by Calibosmom
& thought I'd pass it along...

Glad to see someone is having nice Memorial Day weather. :)
We woke up to Seattle weather in SLC.

Just reading that post made me have a great Memorial Day. On holidays like these I really miss being back in the States. Can't wait until you post snippets from the disaster movie, what a hoot!
Love the anthem. What a beautiful arrangement; I love all the different and sometimes complex harmonies. Lovely.
Mmmmmm! Reading in the backyard. I'm a huge fan!!
The Dixie Chicks rock! Thanks for reminding me that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. And I have to say I love your letters to a parent. You've had some awesome contributions.
Looks like a lovely day to me (except for the weeding part). Did you get out of that by virtue of motherly duties to attend to elsewhere? If not, you should have made some up. Then snuck into the house and blogged about it. Not that I'd know anything about that, ahem.
Great pictures. Great video clip. The Dixie Chicks being PATRIOTIC??? Who allowed such a thing? Hadn't they been banned from all American activities? What will the right-wing conservatives think? A lot of fuss over people expressing their dissent. I like the Chicks and their audacity.
Your Memorial day was considerably more productive than ours. But we did make it to the cemetery in Provo yesterday, and here in Logan, today. First Mem. Day that I can remember that it rained in earnest, practically the whole day. CPB
We listened to 40's music too. I didn't think of it as WW2 music, but now I will! -D
Looks like a lovely spot to curl up with a book!
