Now I see...

Sam learned this on the ukelele for Maddy because it's one of her favorites.
I made him re-enact singing it for her for the first time because my camera didn't catch the audio the first time.
Hence, the hint of reluctance on his part.

I adore it.

(Via the awesome 8mm app & my iphone camera.)

p.s. Sorry about the finger sneaking in there. Also, church is already canceled tomorrow, thanks to Irene. Everyone stay safe out there!

What a sweet and talented boy you have there!

PS Kenny and I watched the first episode of Downton Abbey last night, on your recommendation. We are hooked and I am already sad knowing that we only have 6 more to savor. PPS Your questionnaire is on my to do list even though it has been an embarrassing 5 months since you sent it to me. It will be a welcome reprieve from the thousands of pages of reading that await. PPPS (last one) I was sorry to hear about the passing of your professor/mentor. I'm glad you had the opportunity to work with him, however brief.

I love that song and feel completely gypped that we don't sing it in church. How cute is Sam to learn it for Maddy? Love him.

P.S. I am hugely impressed that he has learned how to play the uke. We have had ours for three years now and no one can play a thing.

p.s. I forgot one other small joy today: this photo of a college freshman in Boston who wore a wonder woman outfit to her first day of class.Silly? Yes. Also kind of glorious. I totally wish I could pull off that look.

Oh, that just made me tear up. So sweet. Love his voice. This is a great heart (meat) tenderizer.
